The Kathina ceremony is a time when the lay Buddhist community shows our support and appreciation for the Buddhist Monastics before they enter off into winter retreat for 3 months. We practice generosity by offering donations to the monastics to help them through the retreat time. This ceremony has taken place in Buddhist communities since the time of the Buddha. At MABA, our ceremony will take place on the 10th of November with the help of the children in the community. We are in need of youth volunteers to be a part of this meaningful ceremony. They will be presenting our donations to the monastics during the ceremony. If you would like your child/children to be a part of the presentation please email the leader of our children’s program, Jennifer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
