Shèxīn Meditation Retreat
小攝心 xiǎo shèxīn
(One-Day Meditation Intensive)
Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018
8:30 am to 4:00 pm
In lieu of Bhikkhu Bodhi’s teaching retreat, we will be holding a one-day Meditation Intensive Retreat to deepen our practice without interruption and distraction. Traditionally in the Chán and Zen traditions, periods of time are set aside for intensive practice, usually between 3 and 10 days long. This period is called a 攝心 shèxīn in Chinese, sesshin in Japanese. The characters mean ‘to gather the heart and mind,’ and has the further meaning of focusing and embracing the mind.
A Noble Silence retreat, we will practice the four postures meditation (sitting, standing, walking, and lying down). Participants should have some meditation experience to attend.
Pre-registration is required as space is limited.
Limited overnight stays may be reserved-Contact Ven. Kungshih at firstname.lastname@example.org
A donation of $35 is requested to help cover cost of food and resources.
Donations for the teachings are also accepted.
